The chenille stems are stiff enough to really scrub the inside of the drilled hole, which I was worried about before buying. String is plenty long to work with for multiple eggs, feels sturdy and hasn't frayed at all after a few uses.

Got the 8 feet of hemp string and it's plenty for a few different eggs. The chenille stems actually clean the drilled holes way better than I thought they would; just wish the kit came with a few more of those.
